  • The AVID program provides a comprehensive system to support students academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Students and teachers move through the program together, forming strong friendships and relationships over the years.
  • Teachers continually monitor students' grads and progress in other classes and offer support and encouragement.
  • Students receive continual instruction in organizational and study skills, and learn to develop a personal system for ensuring academic success.
  • Teachers and counselors provide college guidance, arrange college field trips, and coach students through the college application process.
  • Teachers, counselors, and administrators meet regularly to discuss students' needs, and receive continual professional training in AVID strategies.

Who is eligible?

  • Students with the desire, motivation, and determination to be academically successful.
  • Students with the academic potential to attend a four-year college--if supported.
  • Students with a minimum 2.0 GPA, and average or better test scores.
